This evening begins a new series of social media postings titled “Talk to your neighbor about the weather.” As often as once a day, I will post news reports about floods, droughts, storms, and other phenomena exacerbated by climate change. The goal will be to prod everyone to point out this evidence of expanding worldwide disaster and for each of us to create a community of people around us who want to work on this shared challenge. I’ve chosen this evening as the start of the series because this is Rosh Hodesh Elul, marking a season of self-examination and improvement.

You can see “Talk to your neighbor about the weather” postings on my Facebook site and Twitter site (@praxagora), and on the Jewish Climate Action Network’s Facebook site and Twitter site (@JClimateAN). Please repost and share them.
